Ahmed Shaheed was a Maldivian diplomat and politician and an expert on human rights and advocate for democracy. In 2016, he was appointed as the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief. Dr Shaheed is also the Chairperson of the Geneva-based international human rights think-tank, Universal Rights Group, which was launched in January 2014. In August 2017 he spoke to the General Assembly of the International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU) and the video above shows his keynote speech at this event.

Organizator i uczestnik wielu festiwali i konferencji na tematy świeckości, kultury i sztuki. W 2014 laureat Kryształowego Świecznika publiczności, nagrody wicemarszałek sejmu, Wandy Nowickiej za działania na rzecz świeckiego państwa. W tym samym roku kandydował z list Europa+ Twój Ruch do parlamentu europejskiego. Na videoblogu na kanale YouTube, wzorem anglosaskim, prowadzi pogadanki na temat ateizmu. Twórcze połączenie nauki ze sztuką, promowanie racjonalnego zachwytu nad światem i istnieniem są głównymi celami jego działalności. Freedom of religion has to include freedom of criticism the same way weevaluate and ctriticise any idea.Another requirement is tolerab]=ce. Without tolerance and freedom to criticise the concept of religion freedom is empty.
